Kenya is one of Africa’s top performing economies and financial inclusion has been on the agenda for well over a decade. According to the 2024 FinAccess Household Survey, conducted in collaboration with the Central Bank of Kenya, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics and FSD Kenya, the country now has a projected population of 53,330,978. The survey also shows that 84.8% of the adult population has access to at least one financial product.

Total Population: 53.3million
Urban: 30.05%
Rural: 69.95%
Below poverty line: 39.8%
Formal financial inclusion stands at 84.8% largely because of M-Pesa penetration.
