Mr. Mohammad Ahsan Habib is the Chief Executive Officer of ASA Kenya, having served as the Deputy Managing Director since 2019. Before joining ASA Kenya, he worked at ASA Rwanda as Deputy Managing Director for a period of three years and as Program Manager at ASA Nigeria providing technical assistance for planning, implementing, and overseeing the micro-lending operations. His journey with ASA began in 2005 when he joined ASA Bangladesh as a Regional Manager. Over the years, he displayed exceptional dedication and talent, leading to his progression through various pivotal positions, including Jr. Assistant Director for Operations, District Manager, Treasury Officer, Zonal Manager, and Program Manager. He possesses an MBA (Majored in Human Resources Management) from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Diploma on Certified Expert in SME Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, and obtained Executive Diploma on Islamic Finance and Banking from Alhuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics.

CPA Monica Ndung’u joined ASA Kenya as Chief Finance Officer in October 2022. She is a strong leader passionate about developing high-performance teams, fostering stakeholder relationships to achieve sustainable results and driving organizational growth, within the Microfinance Sector. Monica boasts an academic record comprised of a MSc. in Development Finance, a B Com in Banking and Finance, a Diploma in Cooperative Management, and is Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K). She brings in a wealth of comprehensive experience in Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management, Strategic Planning, having worked for over 20 years in different key positions, for local and international organizations including Kenya Women Microfinance Bank (KWFT) where she spent most of her career.

Operations Manager

Mr. Das joined ASA Kenya in 2015 and currently serves as the Operations Manager. Prior to this role, he served as Deputy Operations Manager and Senior District Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Dhaka and possesses over 30 years of experience in the microfinance sector across Kenya and Bangladesh. He began his career with ASA Bangladesh on 7th December 1992 as a Community Organizer. Over nearly four decades, he steadily rose through the ranks, serving as Branch Manager, Regional Manager, District Manager, and Senior District Manager before transitioning into senior leadership roles in Kenya. An expert in credit management and strategic planning, Mr. Das has extensive experience in portfolio supervision, financial reporting, and staff capacity building. He is also trained in Agribusiness Enterprise Development and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols.

Mr. Kibet joined ASA Kenya as Chief Technology Officer in April 2026. He holds an Executive MBA from the Management University of Africa and a Bachelor of Arts (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) from the University of Nairobi. A dynamic and results-driven leader, he brings over 24 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector, specializing in both technology and operations. Mr. Kibet previously served as the Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Ed Partners Africa and held the position of Director of ICT and Banking Operations at Kenya Women Microfinance Bank (KWFT). His extensive career also includes leadership roles as the Head of IT and Systems Development at K-Rep Bank Ltd and Head of IT at Dubai Bank Kenya Ltd.

Ngeno Hazael Kimutai, CPA (K), MBA is a seasoned finance, governance, and risk management professional with over 15 years of experience across microfinance, telecommunications, energy, and agribusiness sectors. He brings deep expertise in financial strategy, internal audit, compliance, enterprise risk management, and ERP implementation. He currently serves as Head of Internal Audit at ASA Kenya, providing strategic oversight of audit and risk functions across more than 170 branches nationwide, strengthening governance frameworks and supporting board-level decision-making. Previously, he held senior leadership roles including Group Head of Finance & Administration at Teledata Technologies Ltd and Delta Energy Systems Ltd, where he led financial strategy, treasury management, statutory compliance, and cost optimization initiatives. Hazael holds an MBA in Finance, a BSc in Mathematics, a Diploma in Information Technology and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K). He is an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Mr. Bara joined ASA Kenya as Head of Legal and Compliance department in January 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 10 years of experience in litigation and corporate practice. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and is a certified Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Republic. Mr. Bara grew his career at Kairu & McCourt Advocates where he joined as a Junior Legal Officer and rose to the position of Senior Associate Advocate. He has experience in civil litigation, criminal litigation, commercial law, conveyancing, intellectual property law, and corporate compliance.

Mr. Thomas joined ASA Kenya as Head of Risk and Compliance department in October 2025. He holds a Bachelor in Commerce (BCOM) from Kenyatta University, Certification in Financial Modeling and Evaluation Analysis from CFI, and a Diploma in Information Technology. He has served in the banking sector, MFI sector and financial institution industry for over 10 years now, serving 3 financial institutions. He brings with him vast knowledge in financial risk management, Credit Risk Management and Operational Compliance. He started his career in banking industry, has reserved respect in different spheres of risk management including; AML Compliance, business analysis credit and risk management Regulatory compliance and Enterprise Risk management. He was the head of Risk and compliance at VisionFund international, Kenya prior to his work in ASA Kenya and is currently pursuing an MBA in project management at Valar Institute University - Washington Dc.

Isabel Njooro joined ASA Kenya as Head of Human Resources and Administration in May 2026. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Strathmore Business School, a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Kenya Institute of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Nairobi. Additionally, she is currently pursuing the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Program at Wharton Executive Education, holds advanced management certifications from IESE Business School and Franklin Covey. She was the Deputy Director of Human Resources and Administration at the ICT Authority, having served in this capacity since 2023, she worked at Telkom Kenya as a Human Resources Business Partner and spent a decade at the Bank of Africa, Kenya, where she rose through pivotal positions including Senior Human Resource Officer, Assistant Human Resource Manager, and ultimately Human Resource Manager. With over 16 years of experience leading people strategy and organizational development, her career is marked by expertise in strategic HR business partnering, workforce transformation, and labor compliance.

Mohammed Azim Hossain

Mohammed Azim Hossain

Azim Hossain assumed the role of Chief of Operations ('CO') of ASA International in July 2023, having served as the Group's Director of Investment, Treasury and Risk Management since 2005. Mr Hossain has over 34 years of experience in the microfinance industry, having worked for 20 years at ASA NGO Bangladesh, where he held various positions including Director of Finance & MIS and Senior Finance Professional. At ASA Bangladesh, Mr Hossain established the finance and MIS systems, was involved in the development and design of the AMMS, assisted in the establishment of risk management frameworks and was in charge of the NGO Partnership Programme, providing technical and financial assistance to microfinance institutions. He has also worked with the UNDP MicroStart programme in the Philippines and Nigeria, where he was responsible for development, products and services, financial management, performance analysis and business planning.

Rob Keijsers

Rob Keijsers

Rob Keijsers took on the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer of ASA International Group plc as of 1 November 2024, having previously served as Chief Digital and Information Officer in July 2023. He initially joined as Chief Information Officer in May 2022. As Chief Digital and Information Officer, other than leading the IT department, he was responsible for the overall digital transformation journey which included the implementation and adoption of the specific digital technologies as well as the way in which people, processes and technology can enable this digital way of working. Rob joined from ABN Amro Bank and over the past 15 years has gained experience in the cross section of business operations and IT in a multinational banking environment, specifically in large scale digital transformations, post-merger and agile integrations, and setting up green field operations.
