Interim Managing DirectorMr. Mohammad Ahsan Habib is the Interim Managing Director of ASA Kenya, having served as the Deputy Managing Director since 2019. Before joining ASA Kenya, he worked at ASA Rwanda as Deputy Managing Director for a period of three years and as Program Manager at ASA Nigeria providing technical assistance for planning, implementing, and overseeing the micro-lending operations. His journey with ASA began in 2005 when he joined ASA Bangladesh as a Regional Manager. Over the years, he displayed exceptional dedication and talent, leading to his progression through various pivotal positions, including Jr. Assistant Director for Operations, District Manager, Treasury Officer, Zonal Manager, and Program Manager. He possesses an MBA (Majored in Human Resources Management) from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and recently obtained a Diploma on Certified Expert in SME Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.

Head of HR and AdministrationIn February 2024, Mr. Denny Ogogo became part of the ASA Kenya team, assuming the role of Head of HR and Administration. With a robust background spanning more than 15 years in HR, he brings extensive expertise in HR management and development garnered across diverse industries. Mr. Ogogo holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources along with a higher national diploma in HR.

IT ManagerMr. Kibet has served as the IT Manager since 2016. Mr. Edwin holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Eldoret and is currently pursuing MBA in Management Information System from Kenyatta University. Mr. Edwin has over 6 years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge in Information Technology. He has implemented and facilitated implementation and deployment of Core Microfinance Banking Systems, Data Center, and mobile Banking among others. He is a Microsoft Certified Solution Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate and ITIL Certified among other trainings.
Mutua Emmanuel Bara

Head of Legal and ComplianceMr. Bara joined ASA Kenya as Head of Legal and Compliance department in January 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 5 years of experience in litigation and corporate practice. He is a certified Commissioner of Oaths and is registered with the Law Society of Kenya. Mr. Bara grew his career at Kairu & McCourt Advocates where he joined as a Junior Legal Officer and rose to the position of Senior Associate Advocate. He has experience in civil litigation, criminal litigation, commercial law, conveyancing, intellectual property law, and corporate compliance.

Head of Internal AuditMr. Ngeno joined ASA Kenya as Head of Internal Audit in September 2020. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He has 12 years of work experience in accounting and auditing across different industries including banking, telecommunications, energy solutions, transport, education, and agriculture. He holds an MBA in Finance, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a diploma in Information Technology.

Chief Financial OfficerCPA Monica Ndung'u has joined ASA Kenya as Chief Finance Officer effective 24 October 2022. Monica boasts an academic record comprised of an MSc. in Development Finance, a BCom in Banking and Finance, and a Dip. in Cooperative Management. She brings in a wealth of experience in Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management, having worked for over 15 years in different key positions, for local and international organizations including KWFT where she spent most of her career.

Mohammed Azim Hossain
Mohammed Azim Hossain
Azim Hossain assumed the role of Chief of Operations ('CO') of ASA International in July 2023, having served as the Group's Director of Investment, Treasury and Risk Management since 2005. Mr Hossain has over 34 years of experience in the microfinance industry, having worked for 20 years at ASA NGO Bangladesh, where he held various positions including Director of Finance & MIS and Senior Finance Professional. At ASA Bangladesh, Mr Hossain established the finance and MIS systems, was involved in the development and design of the AMMS, assisted in the establishment of risk management frameworks and was in charge of the NGO Partnership Programme, providing technical and financial assistance to microfinance institutions. He has also worked with the UNDP MicroStart programme in the Philippines and Nigeria, where he was responsible for development, products and services, financial management, performance analysis and business planning.

Rob Keijsers
Rob Keijsers took on the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer of ASA International Group plc as of 1 November 2024, having previously served as Chief Digital and Information Officer in July 2023. He initially joined as Chief Information Officer in May 2022. As Chief Digital and Information Officer, other than leading the IT department, he was responsible for the overall digital transformation journey which included the implementation and adoption of the specific digital technologies as well as the way in which people, processes and technology can enable this digital way of working. Rob joined from ABN Amro Bank and over the past 15 years has gained experience in the cross section of business operations and IT in a multinational banking environment, specifically in large scale digital transformations, post-merger and agile integrations, and setting up green field operations.

Ms. Elizabeth Omolo, a retiree from the Central Bank of Kenya joined ASA Kenya on 1st October 2022 as Independent Director. She has 31 years of experience in leading and managing teams across multiple operations sectors of CBK, as well as in the Kenya School of Monetary Studies. As Executive Director at KSMS, she successfully steered a curriculum development and graduate studies project committee to establish a Master’s program in Banking and Finance. She negotiated a grant of $ 1.5 million from the Africa Capacity Building Foundation for running and maintaining the program. She is passionate about empowering entrepreneurship through capacity building.
